Music Concerts at St. Giles 2013There will be a series of concerts starting at 7.45pm on each Wednesday and some Saturdays in May. Wednesday May 8th - The Artemis Ensemble Flute Oboe Clarinet Bassoon Horn and Piano Sextet playing music by Poulene, Auric and Thuille Saturday May 11th - Felicity Smith and Claire Harris Felicity (mezzo-soprano) and Claire (piano) will perform English songs by Stanford, Howells and Quilter; a set of Faure songs; Schumann Mary Stuart songs and Requiem, finishing with songs by Poulenc and Weill Wednesday May 15th - Pandemic Steel band The renowned Pandemic Steel band will introduce a Caribbean flavour to our series. Saturday May 18th - Aga Serugo - Lugo and Ashley Valentine (Note this concert is at 12.45pm) Aga (clarinet) and Ashley (piano) will perform pieces by Brahms, Schumann and Finzi Wednesday May 22nd - Juice Vocal Ensemble Juice are at the forefront of the UK's experimental/classical scene and will perform new vocal music which draws on classical, world music, jazz, folk, pop, improvisation and theatre. Wednesday May 29th - Adam Gibbs and Richard Gillies Adam (viola) and Richard (piano) will perform Bach Sonata for solo cello (arranged for viola by Simon Jones), Prokofiev Sonata No. 2 in D minor and the Shostakovich Viola Sonata Sponsored by Haart - local Estate Agent
